Dre 15.11.2010

Andre “Dre” Gordon passed away over the weekend of an apparent heart attack. He was 53 years old, a career messenger and a friend to everyone who knew him.

Dre, you are already missed.

Michelle Obama 31.10.2010

I also had the opportunity to recently photograph the First Lady, Michelle Obama, with the President, in Columbus Ohio. It was their first public appearance together at a rally since the 08 campaign.

Joe Biden 31.10.2010

A few weeks ago I got to photograph Vice President Joe Biden at a rally with President Barack Obama. I’ve been a huge fan of the VP’s for a long time  and I was psyched when I found out he’d be introducing the president in Philadelphia. What I didn’t know is that after his introduction he’d be hanging out on stage, with aviators, being awesome.

For the last month or so I’ve been photographing a the Moving America Forward rallies with President Obama. My photos have been featured heavily on the new Democrats.org site, which is pretty exciting. I’ll be heading to Philadelphia tomorrow to photograph Saturday’s rally there, all part of a series of events leading up to election day on Tuesday.

Politics 15.10.2010

So I’m splitting my time between Chicago and DC right now working for the Democrats. I’ve been doing a lot of photo work for them, in addition to design. It’s been crazy hours and a lot of travel (in the last week I’ve been in Buffalo, NYC, Toronto, Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison and Kansas City).

Some highlights.

Moving America Forward Commemorative Poster 08.10.2010

President Barack Obama is hosting a series of Moving America Forward rallies around the country in the run-up to the Novemeber mid-term elections. The first was last week in Madison Wisconsin and the next is this weekend in Philly. A commemorative poster for the events, featuring one of my photographs of the President, was released at the Madison event.

The poster is available only at the events, so if you’re in Philly, Columbus or Vegas and make it out you should snap one up while you can.

democrats.org 15.09.2010

I’m back out in DC working for the DNC (Democratic National Committee). Today we launched the new Democrats.org website and identity. I’m really excited about the work I’ve done on the site with the creative team at DNC New Media. Really amazing talented people. The site brings a lot of interactivity as well as tools for organizing both at the national and local levels wrapped in a modern, minimalist package.

After  the site launch this morning I went and photographed the press event with former Virginia Governor Tim Kaine. A selection of those photos are available over at the Democrats flicker feed.

The intro photograph on the site is one I shot of the President in Iowa City last year, which is really exciting (and kind of unnerving to see it reproduced on Fox and Friends and Good Morning America).

I’ll be working in DC through the November Elections. If yr in town give a holla’.

President Obama in Vote 2010 Posters 25.08.2010

A Photograph I took last year in Iowa for the Democratic National Committee is featured in the new Vote 2010 posters and literature, that’s a part of the DNC and OFA’s get out the vote drive for the upcoming November 2010 elections.

I’m in DC right now working out of the DNC’s offices on Capitol Hill and the poster is everywhere, and I’m pretty stoked.
