The re-elect just put out our 2012 wall calendar. I’m thrilled, and deeply honored, to have been included in it along side Pete Souza, Chuck Kennedy, Tyler Driscoll and Jocelyn Augustino. They’re all really exceptional and inspiring photographers, and I couldn’t be more psyched to have my work included in it.

My First New York Times clipping

I did some engangement photos earlier in the year for Kathy Legg and Rajib Chanda, and their wedding was last weekend in Portsmouth RI. The New York Times just ran a piece on the wedding featuring one of my photos. It’ll be in the national print edition of the paper on July 10th.

Austin Texas and Verner Panton

I was in Austin, Texas yesterday shooting. After the event I was wandering down the street, trying to figure out where my hotel was, when I saw two Verner Panton Panton Chairs sitting in front of a salon.

I have the exact same white Panton Chairs at home, which is co-incidental because I finally have moved back to Chicago full time after almost nine months on and off in DC. I’m sitting in one of these chairs right now.

It’s good to be home.

For me the best moments are the unscripted ones, the ones people typically try and edit out, remove or hide. But, on any shoot, the part where you’re prepping and getting ready and setting everything up—that’s actually when everyone is most at ease and you get really good stuff.

I’m home in Chicago for a few days. Came back to photograph the Presidents first campaign fundraiser event at Navy Pier. It’s so good to be home I don’t even mind that it snowed last night. In April.
