Henri Cartier-Bresson and the Art and Photography of Paris 11.10.2008
Went to this exhibit at the Art Institute on Thursday (free admission after 5 natch). Hadn’t been to a Bresson exhibit in about 10 years (since the Tet-a-tet and Portrait exhibits in London) and I had almost forgotten how moving it is to look at an actual print of his, not just reproductions in books.
Inspired me to start making more prints of stuff. This whole digital age thing means that these days it seems most people interface with their photos via the screen and not as a physical thing you can hold an inch or so from your nose.
So since I’ve got this expensive ass printer I’ve been messing with prints again. And while it’s not quite as satisfying as darkroom work it beats scrolling through Lightroom galleries.
