Flying

I pretty much hate flying. Not the actual being in the plane part, but dealing with all the insane bullshit of the airlines. I know this is a common complaint, but this last year has been really epic with delays, cancelations, surly flight attendants, insane passengers and confused, incompetent security.
Like a lot of working photographers I carry on [...]

World Cup (over)

So world cup is over. Flying home in the morning. The Ironmen won. I saw a lot of people. I shot a lot. I’ll be editing all week.

World Cup

I’m down in Orlando at the Disney Wide World of Sports complex photographing the 2008 PSP World Cup. This is the 6th one of these I’ve photographed, the first being in ‘99, it’s striking how the same it is.

This image hasn’t been retouched yet, so it’ll be looking better once I start with the real editing.

Henri Cartier-Bresson and the Art and Photography of Paris

Went to this exhibit at the Art Institute on Thursday (free admission after 5 natch). Hadn’t been to a Bresson exhibit in about 10 years (since the Tet-a-tet and Portrait exhibits in London) and I had almost forgotten how moving it is to look at an actual print of his, not just reproductions in books.
Inspired me to [...]

Shot in the Face | The Book

First round of pulls are done on Shot in the Face, my long planned, long talked about book about the six years I spent working at P8NT Magazine. Been recovering the digital archive from the magazine (all of which was burned onto CD’s when the magazine went under) and am about to start trying to [...]

Working On

Did a shoot for 4 Star Courier Collective over the weekend. Been working on editing them down for use on their site (which I did as well).

Also edited down portraits from this years North American Cycle Courier Championship for COG. These should be appearing in the next issue.

Also did some work for Mother Jones Magazine [...]
